BEAUTY, SOLITUDE, LOSS, AND JOY IN MĀKAHA

Salvage Public x Josiah Kekoanui Patterson. Josiah is a photographer from Mākaha, Oʻahu. We’ve been lucky enough to have worked with hie since the earliest days of Salvage Public, and this latest collection of photos takes us back to familiar turf, his home in Mākaha. Josiah’s skill for capturing the nuance of everyday life amplifies the sense of beauty, solitude, loss, and joy one experiences on Oʻahu’s westside.
For this exhibit, we’re pleased to partner with the Rell Sunn Educational Foundation, which holds a keiki surf contest at Mākaha every spring. A portion of the proceeds from print and event t-shirt sales will be donated.
