Naupaka (This pattern comes to us from our ʻohana at Poakalani & co. a Hawaiian quilting hui, founded in the 1970s). A legend of love - A half bloomed flower signifying separated lovers. There are two varieties of the Naupaka flower, one growing in the mountains and one by the sea. Only when brought together are the lovers reconnected forming a whole flower).
